Tamil Cinema's hot babe Namitha has appeared in her maiden English film ‘Maya’ as a dasi who prefers to live wither her lesbian partner all the time.
Directed by Eric Manning, ace cinematographer Ashok Kumar is the cinematographer of the film. The film is one that Namitha has been shooting for over two years now.
According to the actress, Maya is a film that dares to portray the turmoil of a woman's emotions. Popular Hollywood artistes like Panit Phoenix, Zain Jamal, Yavor Veselinov and Sunny Mallick are also in the film. Randor Guy has collaborated with Jason Krieger writing a script for the movie. Academy award winner Shereth is scoring the music for the film.
Namitha speaking on the film says that her character in this film cannot be tagged as a lesbian. But a sequence in the film will hint a little bit. She also said that since it is a demand of the script she has agreed to do so have done it.
The scenes are similar to the ones in ‘Fire’, the film released around 5 years ago that starred Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das. Industry insiders said that Namitha is quite unperturbed about the controversy that she might already have created!

Actress Namitha isn't exactly one you would picture dangling a young one from her knee, but she seemed at ease at the launch of an activity centre for kids. After all, she is "just a grown-up child," in her own words.
Baby's Day Out (BDO) on Chamiers Road is a sort of kitty party for the under 12s. Company CEO Vimal Chordia said he and his friends were discussing about the city lacking in quality space for children to play, and soon came up with the BDO concept.

Namitha in Sarath's next Film
Sarath Kumar is producing as well as acting in movie 1977, being produced under his home banner. 1977 has two heroines; Namitha, who will be a lawyer, and Farzana, who will be a journo.Speaking about the film, Sarath Kumar said, "I have acted with Namitha in quite a few films before. She is acting as an advocate, but at the same time she has plenty of room to flaunt her glamorous image. The film will be released in Telugu and Tamil and also some foreign languages."
Close on the heels of ‘Nam Nadu’, Sarath Kumar has commenced shooting to complete ‘Vaitheeswaran’, expected for a release this Deepavali. By the end of this year, the actor will commence his next venture titled ‘1977′. Touted to be an action-packed thriller, the movie features Sarath Kumar in the role of a detective.He is doing research on how a detective would look and doing his get-up accordingly.
Sarath Upset with NamithaSarath Kumar, president of Nadigar Sangam, is reportedly very upset with Namitha. The shooting of Sarath's home production '1977' was in progress on the 8th floor of AVM studios last week. Sarath, with his make-up on, was awaiting Namitha's arrival for the shoot. Minutes dragged by and there was no sign of Namitha.When Sarath finally called her up over phone, Namitha reportedly told him that she was not feeling well. The same thing happened on the succeeding day too. An irritated Sarath sent his men to Namitha's residence to know what was cooking. The men couldn't find Namitha at her house and traced her to see if she was admitted to any hospital nearby due to her 'illness'.

Namitha in Jaganmohini
Vittalacharya's fantasy Jaganmohini features glam doll Namitha. The film is a rehash of the original, which starred Jaya Malini and is being produced by Lakshmi Movie Makers. Another actress has joined the crew along with Namitha. It is none other than Yamini Sharma. This Bangalore based classical dancer made her debut as Rambha in the Vadivelu starrer Indiralogathil Na Azhagappan.

Fans build Temple for Namitha
A temple dedicated to popular south Indian actress Namitha is being built in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli district and she is 'thrilled and scared'.When completed, it will be the second such temple in honour of an actress in Tamil Nadu. Tirunelveli district is about 600 km from Chennai.
According to Namitha fan club President, the temple has been built by a self interested fan, who is residing at present in Thirunelveli. "But Namitha Madam did not support this kind of activities or give any financial helps to them. They just show their love by building a temple in Namitha's name. Nothing is wrong in this,"
She is the actress who has achieved what only Kushboo could get in Kollywood. A temple for herself. The temple located in Nellai is built of the voluptuous actress by her fan club.
